Listen up, Miranda Lambert fans. We have some exciting news to share with you. The country star will be contributing to a new podcast called Make It Up as We Go. Miranda will be a featured cast member as well as an executive producer. Tune in on your morning commute or while you’re at the gym. We’re sure you’ll fall head over heels in love with it.
A New Project for Miranda Lambert
According to PEOPLE, Make It Up as We Go is about a young woman who aspires to country music stardom. Miranda is certainly in good company. Celebrities joining the project include Dennis Quaid, Billy Bob Thornton, Bonny Bones, Lindsay Ell, and Craig Robinson. You can also expect to hear some new songs from your favorite artists.
“I built a career telling stories, specifically through music,” Miranda tells PEOPLE in an interview. “I was drawn to a new form of storytelling with podcasts, which I have never done before. The main character, played by Scarlett Burke, and her challenges as an aspiring singer/songwriter are ones that I can relate to firsthand, which really captivated my attention.”
Anyone in the country music industry knows it’s an endless uphill climb. The podcast will follow Scarlett Burke’s character as she overcomes hurdles and meets fun new characters along the way. Miranda says she strongly relates to the character’s journey.
“I came to Nashville 18 years ago and really started cutting my teeth as a songwriter and performer,” Miranda continues. “So I can relate to the trajectory of a singer/songwriter’s career that comes with many highs and lows. This story captures those moments in a compelling narrative.”
Quarantine Life and Other Projects
We’re excited Miranda will get the chance to perform. She recently shared her Coronavirus anxiety with fans. She doesn’t particularly enjoy giving virtual concerts and really misses the in-person connection with fans. Not knowing when she will be able to tour again has left Miranda feeling incredibly overwhelmed.
In an interview, she describes how much she dislikes singing over Zoom calls. Interacting with fans and giving them a live show is what Miranda misses most about the pre-Coronavirus days. We all hope she can tour again soon, but no one knows exactly how the pandemic will play out. Like most artists, Miranda is putting her fans’ safety first.
Hopefully, this new podcast will help cheer Miranda up. Her new single, “Bluebird,” is absolutely spectacular and is doing remarkably well on the country music charts. If you haven’t listened yet, you can right now:
