Country music star Carrie Underwood surprised fans by announcing on Twitter that she will be returning to the Sunday Night Football show as an opening performer. Carrie Underwood made the surprising announcement with a picture of herself in a stunning silver outfit.
Carrie Underwood Makes A Surprising Return To Sunday Night Football
The American Idol winner is known for her popular hits, such as Before He Cheats. Carrie Underwood surprised fans on Twitter by announcing that she’s going to be performing at NBC’s opening show for the Sunday Night Football show. This will mark the singer’s 11th season in a row that she will be performing in the opening show.
On Twitter, Carrie wrote, “Excited to be a part of the @SNFonNBC show open for the 11th season in a row! See you September 10!” In her Tweet, the star included a photo of herself wearing a powerful and shiny one-legged and one-armed pantsuit. Making the country star look powerful and stunning.

Not only was Carrie’s announcement a surprise, but fans are in for a real treat as Carrie and the SNF have hinted at new exciting visuals and elements. Tripp Dixon is the creative director of the SNF show for 11 of the 12 years that the show has been running. He hints more at what these new changes could include. Tripp said, “We’re thrilled to work with Carrie to capture a new vision for this season’s show open. It sets the tone for the broadcast and pays tribute to the teams, star players, and fans in a fun and dynamic way,”
What To Expect At The Sunday Night Football Show And Where To Watch
The Sunday Night Football Show will be held on September 10th and will be available to watch on both the Peacock and NBC channels. Carrie will sing the two teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants, onto the field.
According to a press release ahead of the show, Carrie is set to perform her hit song, Waiting All Day For Sunday Night, at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas. In a statement, Carrie expressed how much she enjoyed performing the previous year at the venue. She said, “I loved shooting the show open again this year at our home away from home, The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, and can’t wait for another season of football!”
On top of getting her new and exciting opening show ready for the upcoming football season, she has just come back from being on tour. Carrie completed her U.S. The Demin & Rhinestones Tour. Now fans can book to see the star perform her Las Vegas Residency shows from September through to December 2023.
