Jelly Roll admits that he is haunted by demons and dark times from his past. He still struggles with things that have happened in his life and it does not fade with success. So, how is he coping and what exactly goes on in his mind? Read on for more details.
Jelly Roll Haunted By Demons & Dark Times
There have been a lot of hard times in Jelly Roll’s life and he is not immune to the struggles that he went through. He was thrown in jail forty times and ran with a bad crowd from a very early age. More so, he has admitted that he knows he will always have enemies from where he made epic mistakes. That is quite fine with him but he has tried to make things so much better now that he has success. Since he has his wife, Bunnie, and two children, Bailee, and Noah, Jelly wants to inspire a better world.
It seems that he stays on the straight and narrow by helping others. However, he is human and may have a positive, cheery demeanor. Yet, inside, there is a lot trapped, evident by his music. According to Taste of Country, Jelly spoke to the New York Times. He shared what deeply troubles him and how it even affects his sleeping habits.
“As jovial as I am in real life, the music is a reflection of a very, very dark hallway between my ears. [My mind is] the scariest place on earth for me. I dread going to sleep every night. The ghosts are there.”
This explains why his songs are so relatable, and, at times, heartwrenching yet powerful. Fans love what Jelly does but will he ever explore the happiness within himself?
“I’m going into my eighth year of marriage and I’ve never been more in love. I just want a wedding song — I’ve had so many funeral songs. I want to showcase that there are highs in life, too, and I want to figure out a way to incorporate them in the music.”
His Own Brand Of Happiness
Jelly Roll has learned how to be happy and to cry happy tears. He makes videos of the best moments in his entire life like after he was nominated for two GRAMMYs. Plus, he shared himself calling to tell his mother he was nominated and to ask her to join him for the big night. At the same time, Jelly openly admits that he is in therapy to help him and has all practices, he does not shy away from or laugh at anything. Hopefully, he will start to see the light within the darkness, as hard as it may be.
