Jelly Roll was in a recent interview where he was asked to give his thoughts on Morgan Wallen. He had a rough start in life but recently has found his way and is making music that relates to people who have gone through something similar. After being in jail, he has been married to Bunnie XO. The two seem extremely happy together and fans adore them. What did the star have to say about colleague Morgan Wallen?

Jelly Roll And His Start

His real name is Jason DeFord, however, his mother gave him the nickname “Jelly Roll” when he was a kid because he was chunky. As Jelly Roll has gone by nothing else, he opened up in his documentary that his mental health challenges come from obesity and the nickname didn’t help. In the documentary, He also goes into detail on his drug addiction. He was doing drugs at 15-years-old. He also revealed he went to jail 40 times. Most were for drug use and robbery. He was charged as an adult at 16 and got serious jail time, however, once he got out, he turned his life around and focuses on helping people who were like him.

He Gives Opinion On Morgan Wallen

On a podcast Jelly Roll was asked to share his thoughts on Wallen.

“They brought the national spotlight to the rest of us, we’re all just trying to get a little piece of that sunshine they brought over here, he’s truly brilliant,”

He also applauded Morgan Wallen for getting his start in Nashville.

“There’s no harder town to cut your teeth in than Nashville,” he says. “I’ve wrote in L.A., I’ve wrote in New York … (Nashville is) the f—in’ UFC of songwriting.”

Morgan Wallen has the same respect for Jelly Roll.

“I see how other people treat other people who may not have as much stature as me or as much success as me, and I see him treat them the same. That’s what I look for when it comes to a man.”

With the mutual respect the two have for each other, fans are assuming they could have a collaboration sometime in the future. Fans would go crazy over that.
