Lainey Wilson Gets Surprise At The Voice Finale
Lainey Wilson is a name you need to know in the country music scene. This talented singer-songwriter has been making waves with her powerful voice and captivating stage presence. Born in Baskin, Louisiana, Wilson began performing at a young age and hasn’t looked back since.
Believe it or not, Wilson’s journey to stardom wasn’t always easy. She faced rejection seven times on American Idol before finally gracing the stage at the Season 21 finale. However, that didn’t deter her from pursuing her dreams. Her perseverance paid off when she won the Grammy for Best Country Album and the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female Country Artist.
But her lifelong dream was to take the stage at the Grand Ole Opry. Reba McEntire put that dream in reach for Wilson. She surprised the singer during The Voice season finale last month. The “Fancy” singer invited Lainey Wilson to join the Grand Ole Opry.
Welcomed To Grand Ole Opry By Country Legends
Lainey Wilson clearly has the attention of some of the biggest names in the music industry. Legendary rock frontman Jon Bon Jovi sang her praises during a recent interview. Two country superstars helped Wilson fulfill her childhood dream by welcoming her to the Grand Ole Opry earlier this month.
After performing with sets with Terri Clark and then Wynonna Judd, Lainey Wilson took the stage to perform a handful of her own popular songs, including “Heart Like A Truck” and “Watermelon Moonshine.”
According to Southern Living, she was then officially inducted to the Grand Ole Opry by country royalty, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks. Before presenting the honor, Yearwood told the singer, “I have had the chance to know you Lainey just a little bit and what I know and the biggest compliment I think I can pay you is that ‘you get it.’ You know what it means to love country music.”

Garth Brooks added that when all the awards and accolades fade away, the Grand Ole Opry will be there to welcome Lainey Wilson with open arms.
Wilson took to her Instagram after the event to express her gratitude. “Becoming an official member of this family is one of the highest honors I could ever receive,” she wrote in part.
