Lainey Wilson is sharing her “full circle moment” with superstar, Miley Cyrus and it is truly one for the books. They both won their first Grammys in 2024 so they have that special moment in common. Yet, there is more to the two ladies’ backstories than meets the eye and it goes back to the early days of Miley’s career. Keep reading for all of the details on the Lainey-Miley connection.
Lainey Wilson Shares ‘Full Circle Moment’ With Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has been a household name for years and has spanned many genres through music, movies, and television. She has made waves and caused controversy but fans adore her and her style. The same goes for Lainey Wilson. She is not only known for her role as Abby on the hit series, Yellowstone but for her duet with Jelly Roll. They knocked it out of the ballpark with “Save Me” and Lainey has also become an icon for curvy women, making them proud of every inch of themselves.
However, one little-known fact is that she got her start through Miley. She used to impersonate Miley Cyrus at different events while in high school. Lainey did these impersonations at birthday parties, fairs, and festivals in different Southern states, one even for charity which makes it even more special. Yet, according to Life & Style, she got to show Miley what she had at the D23 convention. It was there that Miley was named the youngest Disney Legend.
Lainey honored her by singing the theme song to Hannah Montana, Best of Both Worlds. She then shared this:
My very first job was taking my portable sound system and a wig and impersonating Hannah Montana.
An insider explained that this was a moment Lainey never imagined would happen. After all of the years of singing this theme song, Lainey did not expect she would sing it with Miley right there:
Lainey sang Miley’s Best of Both Worlds hundreds of times when she was starting out. But never in her wildest wishes did she think she would ever sing it right in front of Hannah Montana herself!
After this happened, something amazing happened between the two women and it changed all of Lainey’s dreams for the better.
New Goals
This performance had been years in the making for Lainey Wilson. Undoubtedly, all of that practice was worthwhile but, in the end, she and Miley Cyrus ended up connecting. That led to something special happening, per the insider:
Even better, she got to meet and hang out with Miley backstage after the ceremony. Miley and Lainey exchanged numbers, and now Lainey has a new dream — recording a duet with Miley on her next album!
