Lainey Wilson Released Latest Hit Called Counting Chickens
A few weeks ago, Lainey Wilson dropped her latest hit, Counting Chickens. There are two videos of it on YouTube. One is the official lyric video, and the other is the official audio video. Since Lainey dropped the single on the platform, both videos have garnered thousands of views.
The track itself is very acoustic guitar-driven, and almost like a ballad, even. The song centers around the topic of counting chickens before they hatch. More specifically, Wilson talks about things like eloping in Las Vegas, and more. Wilson has always had a way of writing songs that people can relate to, and this instance is no different.
Wilson Opens Up About Inspiration Behind Latest Single
With just one play of this new single from Lainey Wilson, there’s no question about what the song talks about. Lainey makes it clear that she wants the wedding bells and the forever. She may be counting those chickens while putting the cart before the horse, but, the way she sees it, she is perfectly fine with that.
Even though the inspiration behind this new song is obvious, Lainey Wilson recently clarified that she had her man in mind when writing the hit tune. Already, it’s a big hit with her fans. Especially those who have been listening to it since the album it’s on came out.
Speaking of playing the song for her boyfriend (Devlin “Duck” Hodges), Wilson said: “He loved it because at the end of the song I say, ‘One chicken, two chickens, three chickens, oh shoot I think that’s a duck,’ and that’s just for him.”
Is Lainey Wilson Ready To Settle Down With Her Man?
With how her new single is written, you’d think she was in a rush to walk down the aisle. According to the singer, she recently opened up about how she wanted her future to look as well. Opening up about her future with “Duck,” she joked that she might have to end up being the one to propose because “his a** ain’t proposed to me.”
Wilson went on to add: “I think it needs to be during a season of our life where we really have the time to enjoy it. Right now it would be like, ‘Oh shoot, I’m engaged, all right on to the next thing,’ and I just want to like be able to really soak it in.”
Judging by this new single and the way things are going, it may not be long until Lainey Wilson is officially a married woman.
