Maren Morris went through a very public split from her ex, Ryan Hurd. Recently, the singer opened up on a number of topics, including what it has been like on the dating scene following her divorce. So, what did she have to say?
Maren Morris And Ryan Hurd Were Together For Years
Morris and Ryan Hurd were husband and wife for five years. Whenever you spend that much of your life with someone, it shapes you, including both during and how you move after. There’s also the fact that Maren and Ryan have a child together. So, no matter where they go in life, they will always be part of each other’s lives through the child they share.
The pair also famously sing the popular duet, Chasing After You. The song has an impressive 43M views on YouTube, and it describes the kind of toxic relationship that a lot of people find themselves in, where, even when they know it isn’t good, they still wind up chasing it.
Maren And Ryan Finalized Divorce
Going through something like a divorce is already difficult and traumatic enough, however, when you’re in the public eye, as Morris and Ryan Hurd are, it’s even more difficult, as the microscope is even more unforgiving. The pair finalized their divorce in January, and since then, they have been co-parenting their son, Hayes.
Speaking of co-parenting with her ex, Maren Morris recently said: “The co-parenting thing has been going well. We’re trying our best in this way, but it’s still pretty fresh.”
Maren Morris Opens Up About Dating After Divorce
One of the big questions a lot of fans have, particularly with celebs who go the divorce route, is who they will find once they decide to put themselves back out there on the market. Maren Morris recently dished on what the dating scene has been like since calling it quits with her ex.
Speaking on putting herself back out there on the dating scene as a celebrity, Maren said: “It’s hard to meet people in this industry. Add in the element of kids and it’s tough.”
Maren Morris has been open about her interest in dating either men or women. However, even after coming out as bisexual, that doesn’t always make things any easier in terms of finding a suitable match.
In recent weeks, Maren Morris has been linked to Perfect Match celeb Justin Assada. Morris popped up on his IG story, where it was revealed that they apparently had a night full of “Scary movies + Sushi.”
So far, the pair remain quiet amid all of the romance speculation. As it stands, Morris is clearly putting herself out there despite the “vulnerability.” So, it will be interesting to see if this bold move from her ends up bearing any fruit.
