Through it all, Jelly never forgets about those who are struggling, as he recently made a special stop while in Ohio.
It turns out, the Save Me crooner paid a special visit to the Franklin County Juvenile Intervention Center in Columbus, Ohio. Jelly Roll did not just stop to take pictures with the youth, either. The singer played cards with them, joked with them, and listened to their stories.
While so many celebrities do things like this strictly for clout or a cool promo, Jelly does it from the heart. It’s precisely this authenticity that makes him such a loved figure across genres and all of pop culture. He never forgets where he came from, and giving back in these small ways is a great example of that.
Jelly Roll Speaks From The Heart To Ohio Youth
As someone who grew up as a troubled youth himself, Jelly has personal experience being in the shoes of the youth that he stopped to talk to and spend time with. While visiting this facility, Jelly had some words to share with the youth, and, just like everything he does, the words came from the heart.
Jelly said: “I know that I’ve sat in your seat and when I did I know that no one ever came in and poured love on me. I’ve won a bunch of awards, I’ve made a bunch of money, but mostly what I try to do a bunch of is giving back.”
