Chris Stapleton may have taken many years to become mainstream, but, ever since he did, he has more than made up for it, with countless awards and accolades. However, following the most recent edition of the CMAs, fans are lashing out at the “Tennessee Whiskey” singer. So, what are listeners saying?
Chris Stapleton Is One Of The Biggest Artists In The World
Stapleton may be a heavy-hitter in the country music space, but, he is one of those rare artists who transcends genres. Even though his music has a particular country lean to it, he is popular with rock music fans, R&B fans, and just about anyone who has heard his raspy vocals and poignant lyrics.
With how popular Stapleton is now, one might easily forget that he was in a lot of groups like The SteelDrivers and The Jompson Brothers. Along with that, he penned hits for other artists before he broke into the mainstream as a solo act. So, even though Stapleton paid his dues to get to where he is today, he was recently the target of fan backlash.
Chris Stapleton Cleaned House At The CMA Awards
Stapleton may have taken the long way around to break into the mainstream and make it big, but he has more than made up for it since the release of his solo album Traveller in 2015. In fact, he was up for a number of awards at the most recent CMAs, and rightfully so.
As listeners know, it’s one thing to be nominated for a lot of awards, but, it’s another thing entirely to beat out the rest of the competition and take the hardware home. Based on the results from the latest CMA haul, Chris made it out quite handsomely from country music’s biggest night.
Some of Stapleton’s wins this year included Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Single of the Year.
Listeners Lash Out At Chris Stapleton For Winning Too Much?
After an impressive series of wins for Chris Stapleton at the recent CMA Awards, one would think that fans would be happy for the singer and songwriter. However, based on a lot of fan comments on social media, that has not been the case at all.
In fact, many people took to social media platforms to essentially put Stapleton on blast for winning too much, all the while, it was Morgan Wallen who took home the coveted Entertainer of the Year, which is the award show’s top honor.
I just have one question why in the hell does Chris Stapleton win every award at the CMA’s the ACMs he had one good performance with Justin Timberlake one time that’s it. Cody Johnson blows him out of the water 1000 times every time.
