Superstar country artist Keith Urban recently let two of his band members go. In the aftermath of the surprise firings, many of his biggest fans are outraged over this unexpected change in the lineup. So, what are fans saying about this?
Keith Urban Has Been At The Top For A Long Time
When it comes to the entertainment industry, one of the biggest tests for any artist is finding a path toward longevity. When it comes to anything in the entertainment field, you could be hot one minute and cold the next, and it’s possible to be just a flash in the pan that people forget about.
However, when it comes to Keith Urban and the music career that he has managed to build over the last few decades, he has found the winning formula when it comes to launching and maintaining a career and staying on top. When it comes to Urban, he has found the equation to make that possible.
Urban Recently Let Two Of His Bandmates Go
As much as Keith Urban is the face and the voice behind his successful image and branding, he would not be able to put on a full show without the help of his bandmates and the chemistry they have built as a well-oiled unit. However, based on the recent updates making the rounds, Urban recently parted ways with two of his significant bandmates.
One of the people that Keith Urban fired was his longtime band leader, Jerry Flowers. Flowers had been part of Urban’s band for more than two decades. While Flowers is grateful for the time he had with Urban, and while he is looking forward to what the next chapter holds for him, many fans are sad to see him get the boot like this.
As for the other firing, Keith Urban also let multi-instrumentalist Nathan Barlowe go. Barlowe was not part of the band as long as Flowers was, however, Barlowe was just as professional when announcing his exit from the band as well.
Barlowe wrote: “I can’t tell you how thankful I am for the last 9 years. I have loved every second of it and given my all. Thank you Keith for believing in me.”

Keith Urban Fans Outraged Over Firings
When you let two significant bandmates go and make changes to the lineup, that will undoubtedly mess with the chemistry of the band, and many Urban fans are not happy about the recent lineup changes, either. Even though being in a famous band is still a business at the end of the day, many fans are not happy about these recent moves.
- Jason Aldean’s bass player, Tully Kennedy, wrote: “This is a massive loss for Keith and all his fans. You are such a bad a** and I gotta say this is makes no sense.”
- Another commenter chimed in, adding of Flowers: “You were the heart and soul of the band. The one who always made eye contact with the fans near you and always had a smile for us. I will never forget how you made sure that I got one of your wristbands and a guitar pick here and there. You will be greatly missed!! Best wishes for your future.”
