Billy Ray Cyrus is allegedly going after his son, Trace Cyrus for implying that the country superstar needs “help.” After he performed at President Donald Trump’s inauguration Liberty Ball, it raised concern for Billy Ray and his wellbeing. Billy Ray Cyrus Going After Son For Implying He Needs ‘Help’
When fans saw Billy Ray Cyrus perform at the Liberty Ball, it was shocking. He did not sound like himself in any capacity and he appeared very troubled. This is not new news as his ex-wife, Firerose has alleged he was abusive and tried to control her. More so, audio was released of him slamming her and his other ex-wife, Tish Cyrus as well as his daughter, Miley Cyrus. It was unbelievable that this was once the beloved Disney dad who appeared on Hannah Montana.
He was only married for seven months to Firerose before he filed for an annulment. Billy Ray claimed the marriage was fraudulent but she had her own issues with him. They went back and forth until it was finally over. Furthermore, his kids were estranged from him due to his relationship with the much younger Australian performer. Sadly, Billy Ray did not seem well at the inauguration performance, and his son, Trace Cyrus claimed he needed “help” on Wednesday, January 22nd:
You’re not healthy, Dad and everyone is noticing it. As I write this with tears in my eyes, I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon. I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly, but I think I have a pretty good idea, and I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help.
Trace is sober and has been for more than a year and a half, which he stated in his message to his dad. Therefore, he felt he could be an asset in getting him treatment and being a shoulder to lean on. Unfortunately, that message was not taken well, per Billboard.

According to Trace Cyrus’ Instagram message, he is claiming that Billy Ray Cyrus is threatening to take legal action against him. He added that there is so much more he could say about his father but he is keeping that private. However, he just wanted to get Billy Ray help and this was how it was received. Although Trace will always love his dad, he admits he no longer respects him. Fans immediately chimed in with their thoughts:
- As a long time fan of your dad, you are NOT wrong. You said what the entire fan base is thinking.
- Being the child of an addict is never easy, I’ve been there. Wishing you both health and wellness.❤️
- If he tried to sue you, he’d have no case. He has made his behavior so publicly known, very broadcasted. You aren’t even close to being in the wrong. Addicts do this.
Some did feel this was not meant for social media while many others had relatable stories and wanted Billy Ray to hear his son.
