Garth Brooks Breaks Silence On Allegations

Country legend Garth Brooks released a statement to US Weekly on Thursday following the news that he was being sued for sexual assault and battery.

He said, “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.”

Garth went on to say,

Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another. We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.

He also said he wants to perform on Thursday evening and continue to do good deeds moving forward. His heart is broken that all the wonderful things has done are in question because of the lawsuit and allegations.

Brooks wrapped up his statement by adding, “I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”

What Are The Allegations?

The court documents obtained are from a woman going by the name of Jane Roe to remain anonymous. She was the hairstylist for Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood. While she started out doing Trisha’s hair in 1999 she moved on to help Garth out in 2017.

The alleged victim claims that Brooks would frequently send her explicit text messages and also exposed his genitals to her. He also allegedly talked about a threesome with his wife.

The allegations continue to say that in 2019 Brooks sexually assaulted her on a business trip to Los Angeles. She called it rape and said afterward the explicit messages and physical groping got worse.

The attorneys representing Jane Roe applauded her courage for coming out against Garth Brooks. They noted that sexual predators exist everywhere even in country music.

What do you think about the allegations against Garth and his statement denying it all?
