Luke Bryan is one of the most recognized country artists on the planet. However, based on the most recent updates making the rounds for the singer, he reached a new low in his long and successful career. So, what’s going on with him that has him so down in the dumps?
Luke Bryan Just Dropped A New Album
For anyone keeping up with country superstar Luke Bryan, he recently dropped his eighth studio album back in September called Mind of a Country Boy. Dropping a new album is always big news, even for established acts who have been through several cycles of it.
Of course, when a new record comes out, there is always a press tour, which typically includes showing up for various interviews and talk shows to discuss the new record. For his part, Luke Bryan has been a good sport about getting the word out, smiling, and shaking the hands he has needed to shake since he released this latest album.
Bryan Reaches Surprising Low Point In Career
With a fresh, new record out, one would think this would be a great time for Luke Bryan to be flying high. Unfortunately, based on the latest statistics, this does not appear to be the case for the singer and American Idol judge.
It turns out, the new offering from Bryan hit number 51 on the Billboard 200. Bryan has been a chart-topper for a good portion of his career, so, this showing is disappointing, to say the least. Even more depressing is the fact that none of his previous full-length records have charted this low, either.
American Idol Fame Cannot Save Luke Bryan’s New Record?
Luke Bryan was already a popular artist when he was recruited to sit in one of the chairs for American Idol. Much in the same way that Blake Shelton’s career got a boon when he joined The Voice, Luke Bryan experienced something similar.
However, based on the rankings of his most recent record, even the added exposure to American Idol fans was not enough to allow him to chart higher.

Making matters worse, things were even more dismal for Luke Bryan’s most recent EP (of the same name as the album) that he released back in June. This seven-song EP charted at 158 on the 200.
Surely, Bryan has a loyal enough fanbase that there will always be people to see his shows. However, dropping a new album is a time to feel good about the work you did, and these results can’t be what Bryan hoped for before these projects came out.
