After six months, Kelly Clarkson is back in the studio filming her daytime talk show. While The Kelly Clarkson Show was in production during the pandemic, it was filmed virtually. On Monday, September 21, Kelly Clarkson reunited with her band, studio crew and virtual audience.
One of the trademarks of The Kelly Clarkson Show is the singer covering songs from all different genres and eras. The segment is dubbed ‘Kellyoke.’ Fans always flood the comments on the show’s YouTube page to praise Kelly Clarkson’s vocal abilities.
The show kicked off Season 2 with a trip down memory lane.
Kelly Clarkson Performs TV Theme Song Medley
‘Kellyoke’ is often performed live in the television studio. However, Kelly Clarkson tried her hand at acting in the segment airing September 21. The skit began with Kelly Clarkson huddled under blankets on her couch, channel-surfing. She clicks past the news to a program that makes her happy. She smiles as she imagines herself transporting into the scene on television.
Now donning a pretty pink dress, the singer wanders around each recreation of a classic TV show set. She sings part of the theme songs for Cheers, The Golden Girls and Full House.
During her rendition of “Everywhere You Look” from Full House, Kelly looks around bewildered by the lyrics. Her solitude is evident during the lyrics, “Everywhere you look/Everywhere you go/There’s a heart/A hand to hold on to.”
Full House Star Reprises Character, Shares Heartfelt Advice
Kelly flops down on the couch in confusion. At that point, Full House star Bob Saget (Danny Tanner) twinkles his way onto the scene. He asks Kelly why she’s so down. “Danny Tanner, I miss my friends,” Kelly replies.
Danny Tanner shares some of his corny wisdom with the American Idol champion. He said, “’One thing you should always remember is you are never alone.”
The two then go through a door, ending up on the stage of The Kelly Clarkson Show. Bob Saget joins Kelly Clarkson for a rendition of The Mary Tyler Moore Show theme song, “Love Is All Around.”

While television shows are in production, live audiences still aren’t possible. As a result, TV shows are doing virtual audiences. The Daily Mail notes that The Kelly Clarkson Show had a few notable faces in the virtual audience after the medley.
Ed Asner from The Mary Tyler Moore Show was in the virtual audience. From Cheers, George Wendt and John Ratzenberger. Plus, Dave Coulier and Jodie Sweetin from Full House.
October is a Busy Month for Kelly Clarkson
Kelly’s talk show return also meant she had to address her recent divorce. However, she declined to say too much to protect her children. The singer filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock in June. He is the step-son of country music icon Reba McEntire. Her former mother-in-law was reportedly upset over the split, as she is extraordinarily close to Kelly.
But the talk show host is keeping her mind off her personal troubles by staying busy! The new season of The View premieres October 19 on NBC. But first, Kelly hosts The Billboard Music Awards again on October 14. See the list of nominees here.
