Jason Aldean put out a new song called “Try That In A Small Town” and he is now being censored for his beliefs. This song was removed from CMT and they refuse to play the music video. CMT is actually being blasted by a lot of Jason fans who feel like there is no reason to not play this music video on their station.
Jason Aldean Defends Himself
Jason went to his Instagram Story to defend himself against haters. He shared that this song isn’t about anything racist at all, but is simply about how people take care of each other in a small town. Jason was accused of a pro-lynching song, but he says that isn’t the case at all. This song came out in May, but the music video was just released this week. Jason feels like people are taking it too far with their thoughts on this song.
Jason Has A Lot Of Support
Aldean has received a lot of support from fans for this song and the music video. CMT decided not to play it at all, but ABC went ahead and aired Aldean performing “Try That In A Small Town” on CMA Fest. Jason defended himself saying, “There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music – this one goes too far.”
Fox Business shared that this song is doing the opposite of getting Jason canceled. Instead, the song is now #1 on iTunes and is making Aldean a huge profit. The comments on his video are very supportive of the singer as well. Here is what some fans had to say:
