Did Luke Bryan Really Pull His Music Videos From CMT?

Reports are flying around today that Luke Bryan pulled all of his music videos from CMT. This is after CMT was blasted for refusing to play Jason Aldean’s song “Try That In A Small Town.” There has been a lot going around about this song over the last few days.

Jason Aldean’s Music Video

Jason Aldean’s music video for “Try That In A Small Town” has people upset. The video was actually filmed in front of the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee. This is where 18-year-old African-American Henry Choate was lynched in 1927. He was accused of attacking a white girl and was then drug through the streets of the town.  Jason did not choose the location for the video.

Aldean even put out a statement that this is out of control. Jason is being accused of putting out a pro-lynching song, but he says that isn’t the case at all. You can see what he had to say below.

Luke Bryan’s Truth

Luke Bryan didn’t really pull his music videos from CMT. This was published on a satire site but went wild on the Internet with fans believing it was real. Snopes even confirmed that it was not true. The article was originally on Dunning-Kruger News, which is a satire site. They stated that Luke had pulled all of his music videos from CMT, but this didn’t happen at all. So far, Luke Bryan is staying out of the controversy and hasn’t even put out a statement.

Fans would love to hear Luke Bryan’s opinion on Jason Aldean’s music video, but he isn’t saying anything. Instead, this rumor is flying all over social media and making fans think that he is a stand. Luke has a ton of music videos on CMT and you can still seem there today. Yes, CMT does actually still play music videos now and then as well.

The original article said, “Luke Bryan has more than two dozen videos on Country Music Television (CMT) that earn the network tens of thousands of dollars per month. Or should we say “had. Standing in solidarity with his good friend Jason Aldean, Bryan notified CMT that he was pulling their license to use his material effective immediately. ”
