Famous country singer Zach Bryan tells podcast host Joe Rogan that he never envisioned himself as being a musician. Zach Bryan was recently a guest on the popular podcast the Joe Rogan Experience. During the episode, listeners were treated to an in-depth glimpse into the man behind the hit country songs.
Zach Bryan Tells Joe Rogan He Never Envisioned Being A Musician
Country star and U.S. veteran Zach Bryan is most known for his hits such as Something in the Orange and Heading South. The song Heading South was the song that he posted to Twitter that shot him into the limelight. However, Zach is well-known not to attend many media events or interviews, so this episode was a real eye-opener.
During the episode, Zach told the host, Joe Rogan, that he had never planned to become a big country star. He had planned to follow in his father’s footsteps and serve in the Navy as a Master Chief. Not only did Zach’s father serve in the Navy, but so did his mom and other family members.
Zach said to Joe, “I never in my life envisioned being a musician, ever. Period. No. And I was thinkin’ about it yesterday, how crazy my reality is now. Like coming back to Oklahoma and being around people, and people coming to get me in diners and being like ‘Take a picture with me.’ I’m like, ‘What is going on, man?”
Zach added, “There’s like 700 people hating me online and I’m like, bro, I didn’t mean to fu**in’ do this. I’m sorry. It’s crazy.”
How Did Zach Bryan’s Rise To Stardom Start
Zach’s rise to fame was something that he himself did not expect to happen. Back in 2017, while Zach was in training, he posted a video on Twitter of the song, Heading South. This was a very personal and emotional song for Zach as he was struggling at the time with his mental health, and this was a type of therapy for him.
Zach explains this in more depth to Joe. He said, “I started putting videos on Twitter back in 2017, and then I just kept doing it and doing it and doing it, ‘cuz I was in the Navy. I had a lot of sh*t going on, I didn’t believe in therapy because that’s ‘crazy’ in the Navy, you know. And I started just making music, and I started just posting it on Twitter and I’d get like five or six likes and I didn’t care, it was nice.”
Zach elaborated on why it felt nice. He said, “It was nice to go home and feel the way I did and write and put music on Twitter. I don’t know, it was kind of my validation in the world.”
