Blake Shelton has left his role as a judge on the hit show The Voice. After 12 years with the show, Shelton felt it was time to move on. According to a source close to Blake Shelton, he is “relieved” he was able to move on.
Reason For Blake Shelton’s Relief
Blake Shelton is relieved to be able to spend time with both his family and his wife’s family. Shelton is currently married to singer Gwen Stefani. He is now the stepfather to her three sons, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.
Balancing a career in country music, a career in television and being married took a lot of time away from Shelton’s family obligations. With The Voice now a part of his past, he will have more time to spend with both of his family. According to the source, this is something he has been looking forward to being able to do.

Blake Shelton’s Agony
A source close to Blake Shelton reported how the country music star “agonized” over his decision to leave The Voice. Despite this agony, Shelton is happy with his choice. He is looking forward to what the future holds for him, Stefani and their families.
“This show has changed my life in every way for the better,” Blake Shelton said. “I want to thank everyone…you are the best.”
One of those changes is his marriage to Gwen Stefani. The two met while they were judges on The Voice. That was in 2014. Shelton was married to country music superstar Miranda Lambert at that time. Stefani was married to Gavin Rossdale. After they were both divorced, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were married in 2021, seven years after the couple met.
The Voice Will Go On
Despite Blake Shelton’s exit from The Voice, the hit television show will go on. Shelton is being replaced by fellow Oklahoman and country music superstar, Reba McEntire. She will be judging the show along with John Legend and Niall Horan. In addition to Legend and Horan, Gwen Stefani will be returning to the show as a judge.
With Gwen Stefani’s return to The Voice, getting the family time Blake Shelton wants may not be easy. She will now be balancing a career in music and a television career as well as both their families. Both Shelton and Stefani will have to work at finding the balance he wants.
