It has been a rough week for country superstar Chris Young. He was arrested after an altercation occurred at a Nashville bar. Young was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at Dawg House Saloon. However, after a video surfaced of the event, his attorneys demanded charges be dropped. Tonight, they got their wish. Keep reading to find out more.
Charges have been dropped against Chris Young
The three charges Chris Young was arrested for have officially been dismissed. The entire incident happened when Young was at the Dawg House Saloon on Demonbreun Street at around 8:30 p.m. Monday. Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) agents walked in to complete a compliance check. Young reportedly held his ID over his head and one of the agents checked it.
The video shows the agent pushing Young who falls backwards. He got back up and allegedly put his hands up. The agent says he pushed Chris to get distance between them. They claim he was not cooperating with their demands. The agents also claim his speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot.
It was also noted the entourage with Young was not helping matters and actually making the situation hostile. So, the agents arrested Chris and booked him into the metro jail where he was released the following day.
On Friday, Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk shared that he was dismissing all the charges against Young. A Nashville News Station shared statements made by Chris Young’s attorney and also the response from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
One of the attorneys said, “Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA’s decision clearing him of the charges and any wrong-doing.”
As for the TABC agency involved, they said, “We respect General Funk’s decision to drop the charges against Mr. Young. All law enforcement and first responders deserve to be safe while on duty. For your safety and theirs, we ask the public to not make physical contact or interfere with officers while they are working.”

Has Chris Young issued a statement
As of this writing, Chris Young has not released a statement in regard to the charges being dismissed against him. No doubt he is relieved to put all of this behind him. Since his arrest and seeing the video, fans have rallied behind him and his innocence.
