Kelsea Ballerini opened up about the significance of the dress she wore at the Grammy’s. Kelsea was supposed to wear something more country. It was sparkly and had fringe, however, she put on the black dress she wore and felt a connection to it and was more comfortable in it. Her boyfriend Chase Stokes was busy filming and could not attend with her, but he was supporting her from afar.
Kelsea Ballerini Writes Rolling Up The Welcome Mat
Kelsea wrote her album Rolling Up The Welcome Mat after her divorce from Morgan Evans. She has made it clear their marriage was toxic and not loving at all. While Morgan tries to portray a different side of the story, fans do not buy it for a second. Kelsea wrote this album for herself and to be able to get her feelings off her chest. She did not expect the album to have the feedback it did. However, fans love it, and it allows people to express their feelings through music and relate to something. Kelse Ballerini was nominated for Best Country Album but lost the award. She was bummed and happy for Lainey Wilson at the same time. She expressed to fans that a woman won the award which was a win overall. Regardless, Kelsea was allowed to be bummed about losing.
The Significance Of The Dress
Ballerini felt a sort of significance of the dress she wore at the Grammy’s. She felt as though it was her putting that chapter of her life to rest.
“Originally I was going to wear this other dress that was much more on-the-nose country,” she says. “It was very blinged out, had some fringe, and I might wear it again for something else because it was gorgeous. But then I put on this Vera Wang and I just haven’t worn anything like it quite yet. And I think it to me resembles the color of Welcome Mat. It was very laying a chapter to rest and starting a new one, and the dress kind of has both. So the symbolism of that I really loved. And I just loved that fashion-wise it was a choice I hadn’t made before. It’s a gown, but it still has some sexiness in the sheerness of it, which I love and I’m excited about it.”

It seems as though Kelsea is ready to put that chapter of her life to rest. She is now out of a toxic marriage and in a happy relationship full of love.
