Kane Brown is one of the biggest successes in all of country music. He may be at the top now, but he didn’t always start there. Recently, he opened up about the strong women in his life that shaped him into the man he is today. So, what did he have to say about those instrumental figures in his life?
Kane Brown Grew Up In A Single-Parent Household
Kane Brown has a happy home with his wife, their two kids, and their third on the way. He and Katelyn Brown are relationship goals for a lot of people. Kane Brown has built a successful career in the music industry. He is also a family man, and his home life thrives just as much as his music career.
Kane Brown didn’t come from all the stability he enjoys now with his own family. His parents split when he was young because his father was in jail. With his father incarcerated, his mother, Tabatha Brown, was the head of the household. Kane Brown got back in touch with his father later in life, but, it was his mom that had the biggest impact on him, especially in his formative years.
Kane Brown Raised By Strong Women
With his father out of the picture growing up, Kane Brown relied on his mother and grandmother to get them through, even when they didn’t always make ends meet. His mother remarried what would later turn out to be an abusive stepfather. At one point, he nearly beat Kane Brown to death.
With male figures in his life either absent or abusive, his mother and grandmother were the only steadying forces in his life. Battling poverty wasn’t the only thing Brown had to contend with, either. As a mixed-race individual, he struggled with identity growing up, as he was raised by a white mother, and had an African-American father behind bars.

Country Star Never Forgot Where He Came From
With all the success that Brown enjoys now, you’d never guess that he had such a tumultuous upbringing. Through it all, Brown hasn’t forgotten his roots, and the people that made him into the man he is today. As a gesture to his mother for everything she did for him, Brown takes care of all of his mother’s expenses. He also bought her a new car and a new apartment. Everyone around him is now benefiting from his success.

Brown has come a long way in his life, from sleeping in cars to selling out stadiums. After everything he has been through, he is grateful for his mother, his grandmother, and everything they did to help get him to where he is now.
Speaking of them to CMT, Brown said: “To be able to honor them is incredible because no matter how much we struggled, my mom and nana never let me see it. They sheltered me from any problems and I appreciate them for that.”
