The country music superstar, Dolly Parton, has been married to her husband for 57 years. She and Carl Dean have practically spent their entire lives together. After all that time together, one can expect they share special traditions. Dolly recently admitted to one such special tradition she and Dean share for Valentine’s Day.
Dolly Parton Bakes For Her Husband
With all of Dolly Parton’s busy schedule, success, fame and money, she still takes the time to make Carl Dean feel special. One of the ways she does this is by baking for him. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time for this and it is exactly what the “I Get A Kick Out Of You” singer does. Dolly bakes a special Valentine’s Day cake for Carl Dean every year.
The Valentine’s Day cake Dolly Parton bakes for her husband is no ordinary cake. She makes a special cake, just for him. It is a chocolate cake. She decorates his chocolate cake by covering it with roses. The “Halos And Horns” singer has done this throughout their 57 year marriage.
Dolly Parton May Be Changing Things Up In 2024
Valentine’s Day may have been a bit different this year.
“Maybe this year, I think I’ll do chocolate gravy and maybe do a white cake for our Valentine’s,” Dolly Parton revealed in a recent interview. One has to be curious if the white cake will still be covered in hearts.
Dolly still cooks and bakes. True to her strong country (and southern) image, she makes chocolate gravy. This is considered by many in the south to be a delicacy.
Dolly Parton Is A True Romantic
The “Save The Last Dance For Me” singer is a true romantic. This is even after being married for over a half of a century. As a true romantic, she does not forget about the romance in her life. “I remember every special Valentine’s Day, especially with Carl, especially in those early days when you do special things,” Dolly Parton explained. She went on say how she remembered buying a “little special gown,” roses and how she would “cook that special meal.”
