A stroke in 2013 robbed country singer Randy Travis of his ability to speak and sing. He just released a new song. Was it created by AI? That’s what fans are wondering. Keep reading for all the details.

Country Music Legend’s 2013 Debilitating Illness

The early 2010s were not kind to Randy Travis. He was arrested twice in 2012 for alcohol-related offenses. The first arrest was for public intoxication after he was found with an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.

The second arrest came just six months later when he crashed his car and was found lying naked in the middle of the road. He was charged with driving while intoxicated. CNN reported at the time that the singer was also charged with “felony retaliation” after allegedly threatening the police.

He pleaded guilty and received probation but that wasn’t the end of his troubles. In 2013, he suffered a debilitating stroke that took his ability to talk, walk, and sing.

Randy Travis Releases First New Song Since Stroke

Through hard work and physical rehab, Randy Travis did regain some of his motor skills.

In 2020, he released a few previously unheard music from his fault. “Fool’s Love Affair,” “One in a Row” and “Lead Me Home” were all recorded early in his career but never released to the public.

Fans thought they would never hear a new song from Randy Travis. But he surprised everyone earlier this week with a brand-new recorded song. He shared the news on Instagram.

“Eleven years ago I never thought I would be able to have a hand in music production of any kind,” he wrote.

The post continued, “But by God’s grace and the support of family, friends, fellow artists, and fans, I’m able to create the music I so dearly love.”

Fans Accuse Him Of Using AI

The idea of Randy Travis overcoming the odds and returning to the recording studio is amazing. However, many fans questioned how Randy Travis could sing a new song after his stroke. They took to the comments on his Instagram with their questions:

  • I just want to know how this happened, it’s pretty cool but I’m super curious
  • He says “brand new” but I find that extremely hard to believe… but however I do love the song.
  • I have to ask, I thought he could barely talk, let alone than sing?
  • So, someone has to ask. Was this recorded years ago? I ask because of his stroke that took away his voice?
  • Is this AI? Or real someone tell me

One fan thought they knew the answer. “It is AI. Randy said it is a brand new studio recording but it doesn’t matter. AI can do enormous things,” they wrote.

However, neither Randy Travis or his record company have revealed exactly how the song came to be. Could they have sliced together various parts of previously unreleased songs or did they rely on AI?

No one knows for sure yet, but the answer is likely to come in the coming days.

Do you think the song is AI-generated? Sound off in the comments.
