Jelly Roll was a recent guest on The Howard Stern Show. The Need A Favor hitmaker got candid about a lot of things during this recent interview, including something that gave him a horrible infection. So, what happened with him, and what caused this nasty infection?
Jelly Roll Not Afraid To Talk About His Past
One of the things that makes Jelly Roll so relatable to so many is the fact that he is not afraid to talk about his past and everything he came from. He may be one of the biggest names in the world today, but, he has never forgotten about the struggle and all that went into finally getting his name up there in the bright lights.
Jelly Roll is one of the most humble people out there. This is saying something considering his meteoric rise in the last year alone. Jelly is as comfortable sharing the stage with other industry greats as he is with hugging someone’s grandmother in the middle of a local Wal-Mart, and his fans love him even more for it.
Jelly Talks About Horrible Infection And Surprising Cause
One of the things that Jelly Roll talked about with Howard Stern recently was his time in prison. One of the topics that came up while discussing his time in prison was all of the ink that he has. Jelly Roll has become known as much for his music as he has for his iconic look.
Thanks to all of his body ink, he is easy to pick out of a crowd. Unfortunately, though, Jelly paid a price for all of that ink, especially the ones he got while still behind bars. According to the singer, he regrets “98 percent” of the ink he has on his body, especially when you consider that he paid a high price for a lot of it.
According to Jelly, he said: “Listen, I’ve gotten staph infections from bad tattoos. I’ve learned nothing. I still went back to the same guy that gave me staph infection! Next level crazy.”
What Is Staph Infection?
For anyone who has never heard of or experienced staph infection for themselves, it’s caused by bacteria commonly found on the skin or in the nose. Making matters worse, it can be spread from person to person, as it is highly contagious. Some visible symptoms include boils, and even oozing blisters.
In other cases, the infection can lead to food poisoning, which also comes with things like vomiting, nausea, and stomach ache. In some rare instances, if left untreated, the infection can result in death.
Luckily for Jelly Roll, the infection was not fatal for him. As unpleasant as this must have been for him to experience, for someone like him, where his tattoos have become an integral identifying feature, fans will certainly get a kick out of hearing more tattoo backstories like these.
