Jennifer Lopez’s career is floundering amid marriage trouble. Could country music be the answer to her problems?

Jennifer Lopez had a successful acting career before she became famous for her music. She starred in the 1997 hit movie Selena, playing the title role of the iconic Tejano singer who was murdered in 1995 by an obsessed fan.
Lopez also starred in Anaconda and Out Of Sight before her debut album was released in 1999 and kick started her music career.
She’s almost as famous for her romantic entanglements as her entertainment career. She dated Sean “Diddy” Combs back when he was called “Puff Daddy.” Jennifer Lopez was married to singer Marc Anthony for ten years and shares two kids with him.
She famously got engaged to former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez but they called off the wedding in 2021. She then rekindled her romance with actor Ben Affleck, twenty years after their first headline-making relationship.
Jennifer Lopez married Ben Affleck in 2022 but the breakup rumors started almost immediately. The rumors have only intensified in the last few months. Neither stars have publicly confirmed if their marriage really is on the rocks.
Canceled Tour
2024 was supposed to be a huge year in the singer’s career. She dropped a new album This Is Me…Now and a film of the same name. She made plans for a worldwide summer tour to promote the ventures.
But she announced earlier this month that she’s canceling the tour to focus on her family, which only added fuel to the divorce rumors.

The singer’s once hot career seemingly took a huge hit after her marriage to Ben Affleck. Many suspect the tour was canceled due to low ticket sales. But a producer on one of her movies has the perfect plan on how Jennifer Lopez can revive her music career: pull a Beyoncé and release a country album.

Beyoncé released Country Carter in March and it quickly hit the top of every chart.
Jon Peters, who worked with Lopez on the 1995 movie Money Train, thinks a country album could save Jennifer Lopez’s career. And according to TMZ, Peters is willing to put his money where his mouth is and fund the project.
It wouldn’t be the singer’s first foray into country music. She collaborated with singer Jimmie Allen on the song “On My Way” in 2022.
