John Rich has been trolling Jack Black for quite some time. Recently, Black canceled the rest of the current Tenacious D tour after death comments were made by Black’s bandmate, Kyle Gass. Rich doubled down on his trolling efforts in a major way. So, what did Rich have to say about Black amid this current controversy?
Kyle Gass Makes Death Comments, Gets Tenacious D Tour Axed
Jack Black and Kyle Gass are a part of the comedic singing duo, Tenacious D. While they are known for songs with humorous lyrics, a recent comment made by Gass while on tour in Australia was no laughing matter, leading Jack Black to shut down the entire tour because of the kind of heat that those comments generated.
Tenacious D was right in the middle of their The Spicy Meatball Tour, with dates planned all over. However, those plans quickly changed after a remark from Gass. He was surprised with a birthday cake in Sydney, Australia. When told to make a wish, he responded with: “Don’t miss Trump next time.”
Death Comments Lead To Outrage, Tour Cancelation
This comment from Gass resulted in major consequences. This included the rest of The Spicy Meatball Tour getting the ax. Kyle Gass has since apologized for his remarks, but, in many ways, the damage is already done, and there’s no coming back from them.
Certainly, even if something is meant to be a joke, there are just certain things that should not be joked about, especially in the digital age where it’s so easy to film a clip and circulate it online.
In addition, in response to the backlash that his comments received, Gass said: “I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgment. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”

John Rich Not Letting Jack Black Off The Hook
Even though it was Jack Black’s bandmate who made the incendiary comment, former Lonestar and current Big & Rich artist John Rich took this opportunity to pile on Jack Black some more, which Rich has made a habit of doing. Rich has openly criticized Jack Black. This recent controversy was too good for the artist to pass up.
For a comedian, Ol @JackBlack doesn’t have the best timing does he?🤡 https://t.co/9OKZQfPadA

John Rich remarked: “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!”
Rich added: “@jackblack had to cancel his entire tour after wishing death on DJT ‘next time.'”
This will certainly give John Rich even more reason to troll Jack Black in the future.
