John Rich Pays Tribute To Fallen Officer At His Nashville Bar

Country Music, Country Music News, News

With a career in country music dating all the way back to 1981, John Rich never seemed to shy away from his personal beliefs when it came to America and those who served the country. Not afraid to voice his opinion, the singer received backlash for his 2023 single I’m Offended. While never short on words, Rich recently took a moment to pay tribute to Officer Ryan Clinkunbroomer, who sadly died when ambushed in the line of duty.

At just 30 years old, Officer Ryan Clinkunbroomer appeared to have it all. He worked as a training field officer for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and enjoyed life with his girlfriend. Hoping to expand his family, he even asked her to marry him just a few days before the incident. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department on September 16th, “Deputy Clinkunbroomer was alone in his vehicle when he stopped at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Avenue Q in Palmdale. Shortly thereafter, a Good Samaritan discovered him unconscious in his vehicle and promptly alerted Palmdale Station personnel.”

Acting swiftly to save the officer, the department admitted to rushing him to the nearest hospital. “Deputy Clinkunbroomer was rushed to Antelope Valley Medical Center, where dedicated medical staff made every effort to treat a gunshot wound he had sustained. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.”

John Rich Makes Sure People Remember The Officer

With the suspect still on the loose, the police department pleaded with residents for more information about the shooting, eventually leading them to arrest and charge a suspect for the brutal murder. As for John Rich, he found out that Clinkunbroomer was a fan of his. Really more than a fan as he traveled to Nashville and visited Rich’s, Redneck Riveria. The officer even pinned one of his LA Police patches to the wall.

Making sure fans and patrons of the bar always remember Clinkunbroomer, John Rich shared a picture of the officer, writing, “Officer Ryan Clinkunbroomer, eight-year vet of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s ‬Department, came to my bar, Redneck Riveria, to hang his patch on our wall. A few days later he proposed to his girlfriend and life was good. Four days later, he was murdered while sitting in his patrol car. His patch will be a PERMANENT fixture on our wall as a reminder of his service and sacrifice to his fellow citizens.”

“He Was The Best Person Ever”

With the post gaining over 11,000 likes, Officer Clinkunbroomer’s fiance responded, thanking John Rich for remembering him. She wrote about Ryan, insisting, “This means a lot. He was the best person ever.”
