Lainey Wilson Opens Up About Past With Luke Combs
As Lainey Wilson has recounted multiple times, she got hooked on country music at the young age of nine when her father took her to the Grand Ole Opry. Determined to make her dream of being a performer come true, she moved to Nashville after graduating high school.
But it’s hard to break into the music industry, especially in Nashville where everyone wants to be the next big thing in country music. However, Lainey Wilson didn’t give up. It took her over a decade to make a name for herself.
During her struggle, she met another musician with similar dreams. That musician was unknown at the time but now everyone knows the name Luke Combs.
In a social media ad for T-Mobile, Lainey Wilson shared more about her past with Combs. She said that they first met back in 2013 when she was living in her camper in Nashville. They wrote songs together while waiting for their big breaks.
She talked about how life came full circle and used the example of Luke Combs inviting her on his 2023 stadium tour. She joined him on stage to perform “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” a duet that originally featured Miranda Lambert.
Lainey Wilson headlined her own tour this year and there’s still time to see her live in concert! Her Cool Again tour wraps up in November.
Luke Combs released a new album, Fathers & Sons, last month. He’s currently on tour through October.
New Album Coming Soon
Lainey Wilson’s 2022 album, Bell Bottom Country, sparked a documentary of the same name, had several hit songs and earned the singer her first Grammy Award for Best Country Album. But now she’s ready to put out new music.
Her forthcoming album, Whirlwind, drops later this month. On August 23rd, to be exact. But fans won’t have to wait long to get a listen. Lainey Wilson teamed up with Miranda Lambert for “Good Horses” on the new album and it hits the airwaves on Friday, August 2.
