OU Football To Honor Toby Keith

Oklahoma Football will honor the late legend Toby Keith at every home game in Norman. The university announced that a sing-along will take place between the 3rd and 4th quarters of games. They have not released which songs will be sung but there are tons to choose from.

Chances are “Red Solo Cup” will make an appearance in honor of Toby. When he passed away the OU Basketball team played the song at a home game.

Executive Associate Athletics Director Leah Beasley told The Oklahoman. “It’s going to involve not only music, but it’s going to involve a video portion to work in with the music. I think that’s something that you don’t see. Yes, a lot of schools have it around our (Power Four) community. And so we had an idea that is unique to Oklahoma and that our fans will love. It’s not going to be something that we’re going to have to test, we know our fans will get into.”

He went on to say, “It is going to have a video element as well that is synced with the music so we’re excited about rolling that out to the fans at the first game. The (third/fourth quarter break) will be dedicated to that sequence.”

OU will play their home opener on Friday night against Temple. This will be their first game as part of the SEC conference.

Fans Everywhere Continue To Honor Toby

Toby Keith made an impact not just on Oklahomans but on the world. His patriotism and love for his country were incredible. He went on multiple USO tours to the Middle East. Even after his helicopter was shot at he continued to perform immediately when the all-clear was given.

Toby continues to be missed not only by friends and family but fans across the world.
