Cody Johnson just gave Carrie Underwood fans a huge surprise that they will never forget. He has been doing shows while she has been gearing up for the new season of American Idol. So, what did Cody do that was so special? Keep reading for more details.
Cody Johnson Gives Fans Huge Carrie Underwood Surprise
Right now, Cody Johnson is taking on the world with his current tour. He is selling out left and right and fans are clamoring at the chance to see him up close and personal. That being said, he has some special surprises during his shows. This is keeping fans engaged and excited to come out and see him more than once because they never know what to expect. So, Cody knows what he is doing with his current tour and is very smart. In September 2024, Cody and Carrie Underwood released a single, “I’m Gonna Love You.”
It became a smash hit and fans loved them together. They were already mad about their voices solo but put them together and it was another level. Cody did not want to sing the song without Carrie and that is understandable. It is a beautiful duet meant for their voices. So, now that he is on tour, how does he work around not having her there? It was actually quite simple and a special surprise for fans at his Nashville show on Saturday, February 15th, 2025.

According to Taste of Country, Cody brought on stage Carrie to join him in the song. Although he started off on his own, he shocked and surprised the audience by welcoming her to duet with him. Ian Munsick was the first surprise to sing “Long Live Cowgirls.” So, fans likely thought that was it and that was enough but they were wrong. Luke Combs ended the night with Cody so this was beyond epic for anyone who attended as they literally got a festival.
The Shock Of Fans
All who attended or simply saw the post from the Cody Johnson show were in shock. Some were mad as they were either supposed to be there or wished they had bought tickets:

Clearly, Cody knows what he is doing and is going to keep on succeeding in his career. That must have been amazing to see the looks on everyone’s faces when he brought Carrie Underwood out as well as Luke and Ian.
