Maren Morris recently performed on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026 and was a smash hit. Unfortunately, her new look shocked fans and viewers who could not believe what she had done to her face. Now, the thirty-five-year-old is explaining the reasoning behind her “jumpscare” face. Maren Morris Had Fans In Shock
Over the years, Maren Morris has more than evolved as a performer and as a woman. She began dating Ryan Hurd over a decade ago, which led to them tying the knot in 2018. They welcomed a son two years later but called it quits in 2023. Maren soon revealed that she was bisexual and went on to live her best, most authentic life, which some appreciated. Yet, she also shared that she was leaving the country scene, but that was not completely true. Rather, the Arlington, Texas-born star was no longer putting herself in a box.
As she grew up, she also changed her look, and this just stunned viewers who watched her perform on New Year’s Eve. Maren took the stage at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026. Although she sounded great, her face was frightening for many. She was puffed up, and it led to speculation that she had gotten fillers. Moreover, they felt that she may have overdone it right before the big show.

However, it appears that it was actually a horrid sinus infection that caused her to look the way that she did on the big night. Maren Morris took to social media to show her bare face and noted that this was the worst infection. Yet, she was thankful that she was able to sing, which was of the utmost importance:
- Sorry jumpscare but days leading up to my performance, I had the worst sinus infection of my life and it swelled up my face and then proceeded to evolve into some insane skin reaction
Bad Situation
Initially, those who saw what Maren Morris looked like when she performed were blown away by her face. They felt something more was going on. However, when they learned the truth, they rushed to her defense and felt really bad over the situation. She did her best to slay in her performance ensemble and looked incredible otherwise. Now, it all makes sense as to why she was virtually unrecognizable:
