Reba McEntire Shares Shocking Wedding Update

Although Reba McEntire and Rex Linn had known each other for some time, they did not reconnect until 2020. That was when their relationship turned romantic, and the rest became history. They soon became inseperable and the duo have been happily in love ever since. Rex even joined the cast of the Reba-helmed sitcom, Happy’s Place, as Emmett, who would become her love interest. Fans have loved watching their characters fall for each other, and were broken when they split. They have become equally invested in Rex and Reba’s engagement.

The big question is when they will walk down the aisle, as they waited a very long time to share the news of their engagement. It appears that the wedding will not be happening anytime soon, according to Reba. She was nominated for a Grammy at the 2026 awards plus she sang “Trailblazer” for the In Memorium segment. As she and Rex walked the red carpet together, there were a lot of wedding questions, so she explained what the hold up was:

We’re still waiting on a third season pickup from Happy’s Place. And Rex got picked up on Stick with Owen Wilson, so that pushed the wedding back.

Therefore, it is all about work and scheduling that has thrown a wrench in any planning they were doing. For Rex, he is fine with this as he always puts his job before anything else. As for Reba McEntire, this is not her first trip down the aisle. She was married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015. So, she has no need to race to the altar.

A Good Time

Reba McEntire may be taking her time, but the McAlester, Oklahoma native made it clear that the wedding will be a lot of fun. She and Rex Linn adore one another, and they love doing everything together. However, the wedding will not be typical, but it will be filled with heart and love:

It’s gonna be a nontraditional wedding because that’s Rex and me. We like comfort, we love friends, we love food.

Fans who saw her on the red carpet had nothing but positive things to say. They stated they were only watching the Grammys to see her perform. Unfortunately, she did not win, but she lit up the night with her heartfelt tribute.
