“Control freak” Dolly Parton is fearing for her multiple businesses as she is struggling with her health. She had to postpone a handful of shows due to illness, and fans have been immensely worried. Dolly Parton Has Worked Hard For Everything
Fans have watched Dolly Parton rise up to superstar and mogul, with her very own amusement park. She also has her own cookbook, line of home goods, pet clothing, frozen foods, a cookbook, and makeup. Plus, she worked with Kendra Scott for a jewelry collaboration. Finally, Dolly is known as a beloved actress for roles in 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias. She was supposed to have a residency in Las Vegas, beginning in December 2025, but she had to postpone it due to failing health. Dolly also had to miss her 80th birthday celebration, and now, things are mounting for the icon.
She is known as a “control freak” in her circle and is having a hard time as her businesses seem to be malfunctioning. Yet, she cannot do much with her illnesses keeping her down:
She is very much a control freak and doesn’t feel like things can run quite right without her touch, and she’s not that far off base. All kinds of things have gone wrong in the time she’s been out sick. There’s nothing huge and catastrophic, but stuff she would never let happen on her watch.
Not being able to oversee in the way that Dolly used to is making her feel even worse. Over at Dollywood, there are some struggles, and she feels that none of this would have happened had she been healthier. A source shared this debacle that is killing Dolly:
Some newfangled soda machine dispenser at the park tracks every ounce of soda, and it caused a lot of anger. It’s the sort of thing Dolly never would have approved if she’d been filled in on the details ahead of time.
However, Dolly Parton has backed away so she cannot be there for the daily operations, through no fault of her own.

Yes, Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has taken a big hit, but allegedly, so have Dolly Parton’s other businesses. Nothing is operating as it should. Moreover, it is unclear when she will be back in action to ensure that things are back in control. Until then, it appears it will just be a messy situation that Dolly cannot control. The singer and actress has made it clear that she is not done working and won’t quit for some time. Unfortunately, her companies cannot take a break just because she needs to heal.
