Willie Nelson is someone that artists and performers are desperate to emulate. Now, a Real Housewives of New York star is shooting their shot with a Willie-inspired song. So, have they done the icon justice? Keep reading to hear it for yourself.
Willie Nelson Inspires A RHONY Star’s Song
For decades, Willie Nelson has been a country inspiration to many who want to make it in the industry. They look up to him and his musicality, the way that he commands a stage and is never ashamed to stand firm. Artists who have covered Willie include Patsy Cline, Sheryl Crow, Cake, and Roy Orbison. Now, a Bravoleb is taking a Willie hit and making it their own. Several Real Housewives have tried their hands at singing. They have failed, but now one RHONY alum is taking on a Willie song.

Countess Luann de Lesseps starred on the first thirteen seasons of RHONY. She has been on the Ultimate Girls Trip spinoffs and is now part of The Golden Life cast on E! However, she has found her passion in cabaret and continues to tour, no matter what followers say about her voice. Recently, she released a new single called “To All The Boys.” This is a take on the Willie Nelson/ Julio Inglesias single, “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before,” released in 1984. For Luann, this was a dream, and she did not have to think twice the moment the song was offered to her:
Well, I was at a party with Dorinda and a producer comes up to me, who tours with Florence and the Machine, Aku, and he goes, ‘I’ve got a song for you.’ I said, ‘Oh yeah?’ And then he said, ‘You know that famous song from Julio Iglesias and Willie Nelson ‘To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before?’’ I’m like, ‘Sure. I love that song.’ And then I knew I had to make it mine.
Not everyone will love Luann’s take on the Willie Nelson classic. Moreover, they may be offended by how she spun it, but at least she loves him enough to want to pay tribute.
The Original Cannot Be Beat
Despite Luann de Lesseps’ attempt to capture the song’s magic, the original Willie Nelson version cannot be beat. “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before” has always gained rave reviews from fans and likely always will. Moreover, fans have praised the blending of Willie and Julio Iglesias’ voices:
- Seriously!!! These voices are unbelievable! I’m so happy I’ve had the privilege of enjoying amazing singers like them!
- Julio and Willie really made magic with this song
- They don’t make em like those guys anymore
