Dolly Parton just sold her cozy mountain home in California. The home, which is actually a rustic and beautiful cabin, was sold this month, and Parton sold it for a very low cost compared to other California properties of a similar size.
Here is what Dolly got for the house and what you need to know about it.
Dolly Parton Sells California Mountain Home
Dolly Parton sold her mountain home in California, with the deal closing on July 1. According to reports, Dolly received $585,000 the 1,800-square-foot cabin in Idyllwild, California.
This is a little over the median listing price for homes in the town ($554,500). However, the average price per sq ft in the area is $411 (via Realtor.com), which means Dolly got $154,800 less than the average house listing. However, this is Dolly Parton, and she has never cared about how much money she can keep.
The cabin itself was beautiful and looked like the exact sort of place Dolly would go for relaxation. Photos of the three-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom cabin are available on Taste of Country.
The cabin is on a quarter of an acre of heavily wooded land, tucked into the hillside for privacy. It includes a cathedral ceiling in the living room, a raised-hearth fireplace, an open floor plan, and bedrooms on three separate floors, each with its own living space and bathrooms.
The exterior also has a large cedar tree with a swing, a deck for relaxation, and a pathway that leads to a creek.
Dolly Parton Still Lives In Nashville
This California home was likely a vacation and relaxation spot for Dolly Parton. At 78, Dolly isn’t slowing down, as she is still singing and entertaining fans worldwide. However, eliminating excess might be on the agenda for the star.
However, Dolly still lives in her main residence in Nashville. She used to own two homes in Tennessee but sold one in 2021 for $849,000. It seems like selling her extra properties might be a way for the star to eliminate worries and responsibilities as she continues to live her best life.
This is all from a woman who grew up in a small one-bedroom log cabin in Sevierville, Tennessee, with no electricity or running water. She even caught fireflies in jars to use as lights in the house. Fans who go to her amusement park, Dollywood, can see the house, as it sits close to the entrance.
Dollywood also has a new exhibit called The Dolly Parton Experience. This takes fans on a journey through the life, career, and fashion of the country music legend.
