Dolly Parton just released a massive rock album with 30 tracks. Many of the songs were the country singer’s take on popular rock anthems, including Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” The Rockstar album also featured nine original songs.
The singer teased her foray into rock music for months ahead of the album’s release. Her 2022 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inspired the venture outside country music and into unleashing her inner rock star.
In her decades-long career, Dolly Parton has been transparent with fans on many aspects of her life. She does, however, try to keep her marriage out of the public eye. But that’s not to say that she hasn’t kept secrets from the world.
For example, no one knew for sure that she had collaborated with Beyoncé on the R&B artist’s country album until it dropped in March. Rumor has it that Dolly Parton has been holding onto another big secret that is about to come out.
According to The U.S. Sun, the “9 to 5” singer has been working on another massive project: a brand new album with a twist. Instead of exploring another genre like rock, Dolly Parton’s new album takes her back to her roots.
The outlet notes that several of the singer’s family members were involved in the process of creating the new album, including singing and writing. Dolly Parton’s niece, Jada Star, spilled all to the Sun about the forthcoming album. “It is an album that documents her whole life. It has been a huge undertaking which involves the whole family.”
She added, “It is an album she has produced with more than 30 tracks with over 20 family members. She sings with us on every track.”
The name of the upcoming album, her 50th, is reportedly Dolly Parton: Smokey Mountain DNA.
Wait, There’s More
Dolly Parton’s niece spilled the details on another project Dolly Parton has been working on. According to the family member, fans will soon be able to watch a four-part docuseries about the singer’s heritage. She was famously born in Tennessee and celebrates her roots there partly through her Dollywood theme park.
But it turns out that her family originally hailed all the way from Wales. The docuseries reportedly explores the British side of Dolly Parton’s family tree.
