Miranda Lambert is one of the reigning queens of country music, with an impressive catalog of music, including her new record, Postcards From Texas. However, in addition to promoting her new record, Lambert also signed a hot new artist to her label. So, who did she sign, and what do we know so far?
Miranda Lambert Has Been Busy Promoting New Record
Even for an industry veteran like Miranda Lambert, promoting a new record comes with all the same requirements as anyone else. Miranda has been busy with the press, as her latest record dropped last month. Postcards From Texas is Miranda’s latest effort, and she has made sure to shake all the right hands and appear on all the right talk shows to promote it.
Miranda Lambert has all-new songs to add to her setlist for her live shows, and listeners everywhere are super stoked about this new record. Miranda took things back to her roots, deciding to record in her home state of Texas. Based on audience reception so far, she certainly made the right choice.
Lambert Also Has Her Own Label
In addition to being one of the biggest draws in her own right, Miranda Lambert also has her own label. Big Loud Records has a new imprint run by Lambert and Jon Randall called Big Loud Texas. Miranda is hard at work building this fledgling label, and she seems to be doing a great job securing new talent.
Prior to this most recent signing, which now makes two artists signed to this roster, Lambert also secured the services and talents of artist, Dylan Gossett. So, who did Miranda Lambert sign recently, and what can listeners expect from this new partnership?
Miranda Lambert Signs Traditionalist Jake Worthington To Her Label
It turns out, Lambert recently signed country music traditionalist Jake Worthington to her Big Loud Texas label. Traditionalist country artists tend to derive their sound from the 80’s and 90’s sound that country music had, long before country pop or “bro country” came onto the scene.
This style of music typically consists of simple songs that tell a story, along with guitars and instrumentation that take things back to their roots. One such artist who does this is Jake Worthington, who Miranda Lambert officially signed to her label.
The La Porte, Texas native seems to be just the artist to carry the torch for Lambert’s vision, and he seems to know just who he is as an artist.
Worthington said: “I believe in country music as much as I believe in my next breath. Blame it on my raising, but I think there ought to be room for country in country music.”
