2026 has not been an easy year for the country music industry. Dolly Parton was set to celebrate her eightieth birthday in a big fashion. Unfortunately, it seemed that she was not well enough to do so, and that has been a trending theme for the actress and performer. She has been under the weather for a while, and it has left her fans worried. Yet, she made it to eighty and made it clear that she is not giving up. As for deaths, musician and DJ Billy Parker passed away in January. He was 88.

Jim McBride also passed in January at 78, as did Al Shade, and now, it has been announced that Don Adams has died. He was eighty-five years old at the time of his passing, but why does that name ring a bell? Moreover, what was he known for? Don was not only a singer and a songwriter, but he had also been a member of George Jones & Johnny Paycheck’s band. Apparently, he had been struggling on and off with cancer for quite some time. He was a native of Greenfield, Ohio, and music was in his blood.

Don Adams worked with his brothers, Gary and Arnie, and they formed The Adams Brothers. As a trio, they went on to back up such country icons as Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, and Tammy Wynette. The brothers worked hard and partied harder, which makes this passing extremely sad. Those who know Don and his music have shared how much they love it:
- Don is sounding great on this one and what a stellar line up of “A” team studio players.
A Sad Death
