American Idol winner and current judge Carrie Underwood is now synonymous with politics. She sang at President Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration, which caused an immense amount of controversy. Now, she has found herself right in the middle of a sick political satirical scam, but what happened? Keep reading for more details.
Carrie Underwood’s Allegiance Backfires
Being invited to perform at the inauguration should be a very proud moment. Unfortunately, it can be associated with who someone is voting for and a political party. When Carrie Underwood was asked to sing at the 2025 inauguration for President Donald Trump, it caused immense controversy. Allegedly, production at American Idol did not know that the winner and judge would be singing. Therefore, they were blindsided and feared that people would rebel. Many faithful viewers did threaten to boycott the show, and are still not happy that she stuck around.

That being said, she is still a judge and does have a strong fanbase, despite the boycotts that have emerged. Recently, comedian Druski poked fun at Erika Kirk, the wife of late speaker, Charlie Kirk, which was deemed inappropriate and offensive. They donned whiteface and pretended to be Erika in a satirical skit. Soon after, a social media account claimed that Carrie Underwood was on board to play former First Lady Michelle Obama in a blackface routine. However, this was far from true and never even happened.

Followers of Hoops Crave, the account that shared this, will know that it is all fun and games, nothing is to be taken seriously. However, those who are new and have never heard of it may not realize that Carrie Underwood never made such a sick and tasteless comment. Some followers commented that they wanted to see Carrie follow through with something she never actually promised. It does not appear that she has responded just yet to the false claims.
Nothing Is True
Since there is a quote below Carrie Underwood’s photo with Michelle Obama, there is now a new warning from Google. It says:
- THIS IS A FAKE MADE UP QUOTE!
It serves as a warning for all who visit so that they know that Carrie never intended to say or do anything cruel. Of course, not everyone knew that this was purely satirical and immediately defended Michelle Obama. They did not feel that she had any place being brought into the battle and wanted her removed:
- Wtf Michelle got to do with this???
- I knew carrie was racist this whole time!
- I always challenge people that say those things. “Why don’t you do it then?” “What’s stopping you?”
Again, many did not realize this was fake, and the disclaimer may have been inserted when the comments got out of hand.
