Country superstar Chase Matthew has been having a wild time, but it all came to a halt with recent band accusations. One of his members was accused of child sex abuse, and it has rocked his whole world. Now, the twenty-eight-year-old singer/songwriter is breaking his silence, and he is sick to his stomach.
Chase Matthew Is Not Having Any Of This
It has been a good time for Chase Matthew as he has a great career going for himself. He has hit singles such as “Love You Again” and “Darlin’.” Unfortunately, things have come to a screeching halt amid allegations that one of his band members was accused of child sex abuse. Carsen Richards, 22, was arrested on Saturday, May 9th, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was a member of Chase’s band, but allegedly sexually abused a twelve-year-old autistic child.
Upon being arrested, it was explained why the authorities waited until the day that they did. They arrested Carsen at the BBQ & Barrels event so that it would be a crowded area. The hope was that he would be unarmed and be less likely to cause a scene. Upon Chase learning of this, he released a statement. The performer noted how sickened he was by the allegations, and how Carsen was immediately let go. Moreover, he would never associate or hire anyone like that and wanted this to be clear.
When I first heard the allegations, I was sick to my stomach. I would never associate myself with a person I think could even be remotely capable of something like this, much less hire them to be on my team.
Finally, he made it very clear that he is learning all of the additional details in real-time. Chase Matthew is attempting to process everything as everyone around him and in the public sphere is. So, it will take time and healing, but he appears to be doing all that he can.
Wrapping Up The Tour
Chase Matthew has just three dates left on his current tour, but has turned off any comments for his post. He seemingly does not want to deal with any repercussions or hate involved with this story, which makes sense. However, he has done the right thing, and no one can fault him for that. As for Carsen Richards, he was allegedly confronted by the victim’s mother and stated:
There is nothing more I have regretted in my life. I made an awful mistake.
