What we know about the Kane Brown and Nelly collaboration
In late June, Nelly took to Instagram TV to post a 13 minute and 56-second clip of him and Kane doing their thing. He captions the post, “Me and lil bro.” Undoubtedly, this put fans of both the artists in a frenzy. Rightfully so, fans take to the post to show their excitement. One fan writes, “Release this now! @nelly you always put the cherry on top!!! #perfecttwist”

On Friday, August 7, 2020, the duo released “Cool Again” with the music video. Coincidently, the release of the single is on the heels of the 20th anniversary of Nelly’s iconic album, Country Grammar. Kane Brown reminisces on how he grew up listening to Nelly. “I loved working with Nelly just because I grew up listening to his music. I loved Country Grammar.”
Kane Brown Recounts Meeting Nelly
Additionally, Music Mayhem Magazine reports tat Kane Brown felt like “[Nelly] brought so much energy to the song and really brought more star power to the breezy, summertime track.” Brown elaborates, “And, just getting on the song just brought so much energy in his verse. And, we went over what we wanted it to sound like six different times I think it got changed and he really brought his all.” Furthermore, Brown says, “And just to see his energy and everything he brought to the video, it just pumped me up even more. It was fun. I’m grateful he was on the record.”
Luckily for fans of the duo, Kane Brow gives insight into how he met Nelly. Brown recollects the first time he met Nelly was before Brown making it in the music industry. To put a time stamp on it, he describes it as when he was “still on Facebook.” The “Heaven” singer explains how their second time meeting was different than he anticipated. Brown thought it was crazy that Nelly remembered where and when they met. “And then, doing the music video, it was like we had been boys for years, and that was my second time meeting him,” recounts Brown.
How Nelly feels about KB’s new EP
While Summer 2020 is drastically different from summers past, luckily, Kane Brown is still putting out new music. Nelly is here for it. Nelly says, “His EP is ridiculous, he’s got like some classics on there, you got HER on there, Swae Lee, Khalid.” After much anticipation, Kane Brown fans don’t have much longer to wait for his latest EP. Music Mayhem Magazine caught the hint when they recognized Brown’s response to a fan’s tweet.

Even more exciting than that is Kane Brown told Radio.com host, Kelly Ford, that a full-length album will be released shortly after the EP. “I don’t know, I mean we’re working on the album, I think we’re gonna release the EP first, and then the album is coming soon after.” However, Brown is quick to follow up with, “I don’t know how soon and I don’t know the exact date, we don’t have it yet, but the EP will be pretty soon.
So Kane Brown fans can rejoice knowing that the much-anticipated EP is coming out on Friday. While we don’t have the exact release date for the full album, Brown wants his friends to know it will be available soon. Keep it tuned to Country Music Alley for this and other Country music news.
