Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina gain recognition with “What If”

Fans of Kane Brown may remember that one of his first successful singles is “What Ifs.” For this track, Brown brings along Country music sweetheart, Lauren Alaina. According to Country Now, the duo went to school together in rural Georgia and met in seventh-grade choir class.

Notably, Kane Brown co-wrote this smash single with Matt McGinn and Jordan Schmidt. Furthermore, the track is the third single off of Brown’s self-titled LP for RCA Records Nashville. The duet with Lauren Alaina Quickly topped the Country charts. Ultimately, “What Ifs” goes Platinum 5 times as certified by the RIAA.

’Famous Friends’ isn’t the first time Chris Young collaborated with the ‘Heaven’ singer.

Fans may be pleased to know that “Famous Friends” isn’t the first time that Kane Brown and labelmate, Chris Young have collaborated. Country Now reports that in 2017 Chris Young joins Kane Brown in a duet version of “Heaven.” Also, the duo works together on “Setting the Night on Fire,” from Brown’s deluxe edition of his self-titled album.

2019 was a big year for Kane Brown.

In 2019, Brown got to record with Country music legends Brooks & Dunn for their album Reboot. For this recording, Brown joins the icons in a new version of their hit, “Believe.” Later in the year, Brown releases “One Thing Right” to mainstream pop radio. Remarkably, this is the first time Brown puts a song on a pop chart. “One Thing Right” is a collaboration with Marshmello.

Brown keeps the momentum going in 2020.

All things considered, 2020 wasn’t an awful year for Kane Brown. Brown teams up with iconic rapper, Nelly in Miami. Once there the duo collaborates on “Cool Again.” Later in the year, Kane Brown links up with Khalid and Swae Lee for his second single to pop radio, “Be Like That.”

What’s the future hold?

As far as 2021 goes, it doesn’t seem like Kane Brown is slowing down any. In earlier reports, Brown mentions that he’s done a lot of pop collaborations and he wants to do some Country collabs in his upcoming mixtape. In an interview with ET Canada, he mentions that he’d like to link up with Shania Twain. This might actually happen since Shania Twain responds to ET Canada’s tweet with “Let’s do it!”

Excitingly, Pop Culture seems to confirm that new music from Kane Brown will include artists from different genres. It seems that it was once a concern about whether or not Brown was doing enough Country collaborations. However, that doesn’t seem to be a concern now that he’s “established some country music too.” Brown goes on to say, “We’re not going anywhere. We’ll always have singles for you before anybody else. But we decided to expand our brand and connect fan bases with other people’s fan bases.”
