For years, there have been rumors that Country music legend, Dolly Parton, has tattoos. Some people even speculate that’s the reason why she always wears long sleeves. And many people Google “What kind of tattoos do Dolly Parton have?” Read on to find out more about Dolly and tattoos.
Part of the Dolly Parton Tatto Rumors Are True
Last year, Dolly Parton gives People some insight into whether or not she has some ink. At one point during the interview, she says, “I’m not a tattoo girl.” Shockingly, that’s not to say that she doesn’t have tattoos. “I do have some tattoos, that’s true.” However, she’s sure to clarify, “But they’re tasteful.”
While the rumor that Dolly Parton has tattoos is true, there are some falsehoods to part of the rumor. People often speculate that the reason Dolly wears long sleeves is to hide tattoos on her arms. That is not the case. At one point Dolly tells the media, “People said the other day that the reason you wear long sleeves is because you have snakes tattooed all over. I said, ‘No, I don’t!'” Seemingly, Dolly Parton’s tattoos are meaningful to her and they serve a purpose.
What Are Dolly’s Tattoos?
“My tattoos are pretty, they’re artful and they usually started out to cover some scar,” Dolly shares. Gutwrenchingly to fans that love and adore the icon, she shares about a time she was so sick she “had to wear a feeding tube.” She goes on to share an intimate detail to explain why she has tattoos. “It left a little indention in my side and I didn’t like it because I’m so fair that scars turn purple on me.”
So her solution to accepting the scarring was to turn her body into a canvas for tattoos. Ribbons and bows and butterflies are the things that I have,” shares Dolly Parton. In true Dolly fashion, she shares that she’s making “positives out of negatives.”
Luckily for fans, Dolly Parton gives a vivid description of one of her tattoos. She says it’s “a little yellow-and-brown beehive with a tiny little bee on top of the hive. The mouth of it is that little sinkhole.” It is good that she gives this description because you’d be hard-pressed to find a photo of Dolly’s tattoos. She confirms in an interview that “they’re not where you can see them.”
