Gwen Stefani gushed over her husband Blake Shelton during her speech. She attended the 2022 Matrix Awards in New York City with the country crooner on her arm. At the event, Blake presented her with an award for her long-spanning career. Blake couldn’t stop beaming at his beautiful wife.
She reciprocated the favor. Gwen has done many things throughout her career. She’s been a rockstar, a solo pop act, a coach on The Voice, and a fashion designer. However, she feels that her biggest role yet is being a wife to Blake Shelton. Gwen couldn’t get him off her mind during her speech.

Gushes over her “babe” Blake Shelton
Blake presented her with the award at the event, which honors women who become female leaders. Gwen Stefani chose what she wanted to say. Per People, she referred to her hubby as her “favorite award.” That’s when she couldn’t stop gushing about him.
“Obviously, my favorite award ever, Blake Shelton, for marrying me,” Gwen Stefani said during her speech. “Wow, this is surreal — weird Blake talking about me like that. Thank you so much, you’re such a babe, and you’re so awesome.”

The pop star addressed the beginning of her career, which started in Anaheim, California. She felt that it was the beginning of her “dreams” come true. However, at the time, she “didn’t have big dreams,” she had “teeny-tiny dreams” that came to life.
She credited her brother and No Doubt band member Eric who “saved” her. Gwen also opened up about her struggles with dyslexia and how she overcame it. She’s proud of herself for being able to write music despite her reading disability. She joked that she “went on to teach the world how to spell ‘bananas,'” referring to her 2004 hit song “Hollaback Girl.”
Special night for Gwen Stefani
Prior to the event, Gwen revealed to NBC Insider that it was a special night for them. It fell on the anniversary of their first date seven years ago. Gwen was “excited” to be there with Blake for this reason alone. The couple hasn’t spent much time together lately because of their busy schedules.

Both of them have made time for each other on The Voice. Not only do they work together, but they also spend quality time together. Blake and Gwen Stefani have been making up for the lost time by having “fancy food and wine” in their NYC hotel room and having a “date night weekend.”
