Fan breaks silence after Miranda Lambert called her out

The fan who Miranda Lambert called out for taking a selfie during her show is breaking her silence. Adela Calin spoke with NBC News to share her thoughts on being scolded by the country music legend.

Adela and her five friends were trying to get a good photo with Miranda in the background. Lambert was in the middle of belting out “Tin Man” when she decided to stop the show.

Lambert said, “I’m gonna stop right here for a sec. These girls are worried about a selfie and not listening to the song, and it’s pissing me off a little bit.”

Adela Calin says taking the photo took maybe 30 seconds at most and then they were going to sit back down. She said she understands that the safety of performers is important and perhaps Miranda was nervous about possibly having something thrown on stage.

However, she does feel very disappointed in the behavior of Lambert. She said, “It felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place.” Adela continued saying, “… I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature and vain. But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture.”

The fan noted that their group attempted to take the photo before the show but the lighting was bad. So, towards the end of the concert, they asked another fan to take a photo of them all together.
