Miranda Lambert just released a heartbreaking tribute to her fans after she suffered through a recent loss in her personal life. The sad news came in a post on social media where Miranda talked about losing a loved one in her life, and she offered up a beautiful tribute to her lost love.
Here is what Miranda said and the tribute she wrote about her loss.
Miranda Lambert writes touching tribute about loss
Miranda Lambert had some sad news that she shared on her Instagram account on Tuesday. One of her beloved dogs has died. The dog is a Great Pyrenees that she adopted in 2016 to watch over one of her “happiest places on earth” – her farm outside of Nashville.
In the post, Miranda said that she adopted two Great Pyrenees on May 1, 2016, and named them Thelma and Louise (after the movie characters). According to the singer, her farm outside of Nashville needed the two girls to watch over it as well as the kitties, chickens, and mini horses that lived there. According to Miranda, the two dogs had done this since she brought each of them home.
Miranda then wrote that Thelma and Louise lived on the ranch without fences. They ran free and spent eight years playing, loving, and protecting the farm. Thelma died on Monday and Miranda had to say goodbye. She also retired Louise from farm duty to live and play with the family.
“How lucky are we to get to have friends like Thelma? I am so proud to have been part of her story,” Miranda wrote.
Miranda Lambert still facing backlash for concert actions
Most of the comments on Instagram sent condolences to Miranda for the loss of her beloved dog. This is especially true for fans who understood how important it was that these were shelter pets that Miranda adopted. It was a great thing on her part, and her loss was still impactful after giving it eight years of love.
However, there are some fans who don’t have the common decency to allow someone to grieve for a lost pet. The top comment on the Instagram post showed no compassion or concern about Miranda losing her beloved pet and instead wanted to continue to drag her for an incident that happened at a recent concert.
That moment saw Miranda Lambert stop singing a song in the middle of her Las Vegas concert and call out a group of women posing for a selfie during one of her ballads. Miranda embarrassed the women by calling them out and said it pissed her off to see people taking selfies when she is trying to perform for the fans.
This caused an uproar. Many people slammed Miranda for talking down to her fans and humiliating them. LL Cool J mentioned that fans should be allowed to do whatever they want when they buy tickets. However, some fans took Miranda’s side, including one who wore a shirt that said “shoot tequila, not selfies” to one of Miranda’s next shows.
