Dolly Parton has a new single coming out from her upcoming album Rockstar. Most of the songs on the album are covers of classic rock songs, many with the original performers joining her on the track. The next single has possibly the biggest duet partner of the entire album joining her on the song.
Here is Dolly Parton’s next single and who has joined her on the track.
What is Dolly Parton’s next single?
Dolly Parton was entered into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but she didn’t think she belonged. A musician doesn’t have to be a rock singer or band to find enshrinement there. However, Dolly wanted to do something so it would make sense in her own mind. As a result, she recorded a new album called Rockstar which has a lot of covers of classic rock songs and a few originals.
On those cover songs, Dolly brought in the original singers or musicians to join her in the performance of the tracks. Examples of musicians featured on Dolly’s new album are Steve Perry of Journey, Ann Wilson of Heart, Miley Cyrus, and Elton John. However, her duet partner on her next single is the biggest name of them all.
On Friday, August 18, Dolly releases her cover of “Let It Be” by the Beatles. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will perform on the track with Dolly. Sir Paul and Ringo are the two surviving members of the Beatles. Not only that, but Peter Frampton and Mick Fleetwood are also on the single.
This is Dolly Parton’s third single from the new album
“Let It Be” is the third single from Rockstar. The first single arrived earlier in the year. Dolly Parton released the original rock song “World on Fire,” which she also recorded a video for. The second single came out more recently with Dolly’s cover of Queen’s “We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You.”
The cover shows how Dolly plans to make all the songs on the album her own instead of singing them the way they originally sounded. The video for “We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You” featured Dolly in the stands at a sporting event singing. Images of Olympic athletes performing intercut throughout the video. “We Will Rock You” was only using the refrain and none of the chorus to help it fit in with the song it has been paired with since they were released together in 1977.
This was also one of the few songs on the album that does not feature any of the original musicians performing with Dolly.
