Scotty McCreery has released a new single. “Cab In A Solo” is the latest song from the American Idol winner. This new single was written by McCreery, Brent Anderson and Frank Rogers.
The Importance Of A Good Wine
It is possible the importance of a good wine never played such a key role in a country song as it does in “Cab In A Solo.” The wine mentioned in Scotty McCreery’s latest song is Silver Oak 1998. This particular bottle of wine is quite expensive, selling for $115 per bottle.
For all the non-wine connoisseurs, Silver Oak 1998 is a cabernet. Thus, the name of the song, “Cab In A Solo,” which is short for “cabernet in a Solo cup.” This play on words plays out well with the line from McCreery “cab in a Solo, solo in the cab of my truck.” The wine was selected because it is one of the favorite wines of Frank Rogers and its name, “Silver Oak 1998,” has a country-sounding vibe to it.

Another Great Break-Up Song From Scotty McCreery
Scotty McCreery grew up listening to the country music of the 1990s. He wanted to both write and sing a song following that specific style of country and “Cab In A Solo” was the result. It is a classic break-up song much like the songs he listened to growing up.
Wynonna sang “I Saw The Light,” one of her singles released in 1992. In 1994, Oklahoma native Toby Keith released “Who’s That Man.” Both were big hits for the country music stars and both of the songs were break up songs. It appears Scotty McCreery will have another hit on his hands with his new song, “Cab In A Solo.”
“Cab In A Solo” Was Written Quickly
It didn’t take Scotty McCreery, Brent Anderson and Frank Rogers long to write “Cab In A Solo.” In fact, it only took the trio about 90 minutes to finish it. Of course, that was after they decided on the specific wine to be mentioned in the song.
The song was written at the home of Scotty McCreery. McCreery, Anderson and Rogers had gotten together to write several songs and “Cab In A Solo” was just one of those songs. At the time of publication, it was unknown if any of the other songs written at Scotty McCreery’s home in North Carolina will be released as singles.
“Cab In A Solo” just might turn into one of Scotty McCreery’s biggest hits. Have you heard it yet? If so, what did you think? Did you get the play on words? Do you like the 1990s style of this break-up song? Let us know what you think. Be sure to sound off in the comments below.
