Zach Bryan is one of the hottest stars in country music today, and he recalls one moment that he feels changed his life. Bryan, who is nominated for eight Billboard Music Awards and just won New Male Artist of the Year at the ACMs said that there was one moment in 2022 that really changed the trajectory of his career.

Here is what Zach Bryan said about this moment and why it was so special.

Zach Bryan reveals the moment that changed everything

Zach Bryan released his first album, DeAnn, in 2019, but with his third album, American Heartbreak, everything changed. That album went platinum and reached the top spot on the U.S. Country charts and fifth on the U.S. Billboard charts. It also spawned the number-one single “Something in the Orange.” While that is great, there is a moment that happened last year that really sticks out to the singer/songwriter.

Bryan posted on Instagram that it has been a year since he performed a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater that changed his life forever. That concert took place on November 3, 2022, and it was one of the most unique shows in music history. Zach Bryan was set to play Red Rocks and, one day after it was in the 70s in Colorado, the temperatures dropped to the 20s and snow was coming in.

“The parks department tried canceling the show and the boys and me decided we were there for a reason,” Bryan wrote in his Instagram post. Bryan and his band made some concessions to get the show running. They axed opening bands, Jonathan Peyton and Charles Wesley Godwin. They agreed to move up the start time and shorten the concert. It ended up as a night no one would ever forget.

The snow started falling, but it didn’t stop Zach Bryan from playing his show. It also didn’t stop people from showing up. The concert sold out, with fans showing up in their winter clothes and standing in the snow to watch Bryan – who performed most of the concert in the snow as well.

Bryan brought out both canceled openers to sing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” to start his show. He also brought Godwin back out to sing a duet with Bryan, as they sang “Jamie.” Bryan bought hot chocolate and hand warmers for the fans in attendance and he sang 22 songs in his set, and then had an encore with two more songs.

At the time, Bryan wrote, “There are no words to describe how beautiful it is that people sat through two hours of a blizzard for me. More words one day but for now I just want everyone to know how wild this entire ride has been.”

A year later, Bryan has said more about the night, calling it the day that changed his life. Not only was this a night where Bryan played in the snow, but his fans were all in for it. This was also his first night to play Red Rocks, and it was a night no one would ever forget.
